After the visit to the sanctuaries to admire the Fireflies was suspended in 2020, due to the pandemic, this year thanks to the green traffic light in the state, this tourist attraction will be reactivated.
The 2021 firefly season in Tlaxcala begins this June 18 and runs until August 8.
The 2021 firefly season was already announced by the authorities of the state of Tlaxcala, after last year, the sanitary measures applied by the COVID-19 pandemic prevented the sighting of the peculiar insects from being carried out in the different sanctuaries in the entity.
The Tlaxcala Tourism Secretariat urged people who decide to visit the state for the natural spectacle, to visit only the Sighting Centers, as well as to hire packages with operators authorized by the Tourism Secretariat.
In the same way and as part of the gradual return to the new normal during the coronavirus pandemic, it issued a series of recommendations to apply sanitary measures during the visit in the 2021 firefly season in the state.

Use of face masks at all times while you are in the sanctuary Maintain a healthy distance during the visit Frequent hand washing Antibacterial gel application upon arrival and before the tour Do not use sanitizers or spray insect repellants from the moment you enter the sanctuary
Firefly sighting centers only operate at 30% of their capacity, and a reservation must be made prior to visit any of the sanctuaries.
